OMDE 603: Technology in Distance Education

Technology in Distance Education had a tremendous influence on my career. Not only did it enhance my knowledge of a myriad of technologies used in the field but it heightened my awareness of disability/accessibility issues. As it turned out, the first e-mail I received in y new position was from a student in another state with a profound learning disability. Up to that point, no one had really considered designing for accessibility. I sounded a loud alert - consulting with our DSS and setting into motion what would later culminate into a designated position on campus: Accessibility Technologist.
