OMDE 607: Instructional Design and Course Development in Distance Education

Instructional Design and Course Development was perhaps my most favorite course...it was what lead me to this Master's journey. There were a great variety of techniques that I knew of and quite a few more were introduced and explored. Again, the appropriate use of technology was examined at depth. I gained a true understanding of the mystical, sometimes hypnotic, infatuation with technology that can, more often than not, led to more problems than it solves. Thoughtful, fitting course design, an understanding of the limitations of students and excellent teamwork can, many times, accomplish more than bells and whistles. New and advancing technology that can change the face and demeanor of education was also explored. Application of newer technologies that were scrutinized in this course has...and will be...absolutely crucial in my career.
