Criminal Justice Ethics

An all encompassing look at ethics in the criminal justice system, this course includes a study of various experts’ writings on the issue.

From Moral Foundations of Criminal Guilt and Penology to the musings of Aristotle on the value of moral character – the elements of the entire system is examined.

Students are highly engaged in this course, discussing the pros and cons of moral issues involving the various factions of the criminal justice system. What constitutes a crime? When is harsh treatment of inmates gone to far? What about the death penalty?
